"My family played a significant role in shaping my dreams. Dealt with challenging circumstances, my parents equipped me with self-reliance. My parents both worked long hours six days a week, so they never had time to help me with my studies. Without their assistance, I had to be my own motivation, and they trusted me enough to chart my own academic development. Ultimately, I hope to be a college history professor, to veer off on my own and pursue something that I love."

Each year, Meritus hosts the Awards Ceremony to recognize and celebrate our newest group of scholarship recipients. We welcome over 350 guests including current and alumni scholars, families, donors, teachers, principals, and community leaders. This culminating event of our application cycle is open to all who are interested in our efforts. Please join us!
